An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Technical Manager to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The right candidate will lead our diverse onboard technical team in delivering world class entertainment, enrichment and experiences for our guests and crew.
Properly manage all technical staff, elements and venues at all times. Maintain the highest production standards for all sound checks, rehearsals and performances. Communicate effectively with the Experience Manager and Staff to ensure that all pertinent entertainment matters are addressed and a result is agreed upon in a timely manner. Operate Sound, Lighting, Video and Cameras for all main events in the Journeys Lounge including but not limited to, Enrichment Presentations, Culinary Demonstrations and Evening Experiences. Conduct thorough daily inspections of related technical equipment ensuring safe working and operational condition and taking the necessary corrective action if required. Coach and develop team members to be motivated and engaging in alignment with the Explora Journeys mission. Actively support all Crew Welfare activities that require technical assistance including setting up, striking, maintaining, recommending and purchasing of Crew Welfare technical equipment.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing technical teams in the entertainment industry. A minimum of 5 years’ operating Audio and/or Lighting in a live performance environment. Experienced with digital audio consoles and live show operation. Experienced with automated lighting console operation, patching and basic lighting design. Previous experience in entertainment system design and installation preferred. Previous experience onboard European based cruise ships. Proficient in English. Any additional languages, particularly European languages are desired but not required.
